Actor Jason Ritter fancies himself as a real-life medic after brushing up on life-saving techniques for new TV series County.

The W star plays an intern at Los Angeles County Hospital in the drama and admits he went to great lengths to make sure he looked the part.

He tells WENN, "There was a lot of work that went into that job. I felt much more like a doctor by the time we finished.

"I imagine I would know how to save someone dying on the street but in reality I would probably call a real doctor. I do know CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) now and could start while we were waiting for the paramedics to arrive!"
